Martin Shenfield
Albany based singer-songwriter Martin Shenfield made the start for the evening. Playing the bass, guitar, tambourine and singing, he sure is an allround musician. Therefore it is not surprising that Martin is standing on stage all alone. But that doesn't spoil the quality of his music. Quite the opposite he reminds of a yong Bob Dylan with his folky guitar strumming and deep lyrics. Kicking the tambourine with his foot gives his music the fitting percussion support. A pinch of modern indie and pop music styles meet the expectation and taste of todays musical taste and makes his music even more enjoyable. A great opening act for a great evening.Caravãna Sun
The headliner of the evening was Caravãna Sun, an Aussie-made but increasing worldwide recognized band. As the name suggests, they are pure sunshine on stage and bring sunshine to their audiences hearts. No matter if young or old - everybody feels the sudden urge to dance, although the weather god wasn't very generous. Their secret? A big load of summery, easy going vibes well hidden behind high musical skills matched with pure joy in what they are doing. Their music style reaches from Reggae guitar upstrokes to pop keyboard harmonics, from Ska-like trumpet (and wind) solos to a steady groovy bass, all rounded up by easy lyrics and a tight beat. Slow and relaxed passages meet energetic, pure life-enjoying flows. A nice mix of all these elements is their recipe to spread catchy tunes into their audiences ears that will surely not be forgotten for the rest of the evening (or much longer). The perfect music to welcome spring.http://www.caravanasun.com/
